Below are some of the best dog parks in Rochester NY for you and your furry friends to visit throughout the year.  There is also some important information on how to register your dog for access to all Monroe County dog parks.  As you will see, there are dog parks in many of the surrounding Rochester suburbs.

How To Register Your Dog For All Monroe County Dog Parks

Dogs can be registered with the Monroe County Dog Parks by visiting the Monroe County Department of Parks Administration Office and following the instructions below.

  • Monday – Friday 8:30 AM – 4:30 PM – Monroe County Department Of Parks Administration Office – 171 Reservoir Avenue

 

The annual cost to register your dog for access to all Monroe County dog parks is $24.00.  The methods of payment that are accepted include cash, checks, or credit cards.  If paying by credit card, the annual cost is $25.00.  In order to register your dog for access to all Monroe County dog parks, you will need the following information;

  • Proof of your dogs age (must be at least 6 months old)
  • Current copy of your dog(s) license with current address
  • Copy of rabies certificate

 

The registration process should only take 5-10 minutes if you bring all the necessary documentation.  Once your dog is successfully registered you will be provided a tag that your dog must wear anytime they are visiting one of the dog parks in Rochester NY.

Dog Parks In Brighton, NY / Penfield, NY

Ellison Dog Park located in Rochester NY

Ellison Dog Park located in Rochester NY

Located just over the border of the City of Rochester is the Ellison Dog Park.  Ellison Park is not only a great place to bring your dog but is a great park in general.  With almost 450 acres of land, Ellison Park is one of three Monroe County NY dog parks that is “off-leash.”

The Ellison Dog Park is located at 395 Rich Dugways Road, Rochester, NY 14625.  The great dog park is conveniently located off the Blossom Road exit on highway 590.  The Ellison Dog Park is open from 7:00 AM until dusk and it’s required that all dogs are a registered member of the Monroe County Dog Parks.

The Ellison Dog Park has tons of things for your dog to do!  At the dog park you will even find a large body of water for your dog to go swimming in.  The Ellison Dog Park also provides bags so that dog owners can clean up after their furry friends which is very convenient.

If you love taking your dog for a walk or out to play with other dogs, the Ellison Dog Park is a must visit for Rochester dog owners.

Dog Parks In Greece, NY

Greece Canal Dog Park in Greece, NY

Greece Canal Dog Park in Greece, NY

Located conveniently in Greece, NY is the Greece Canal Dog Park.  Greece Canal Park, like Ellison Park, offers more than just a dog park.  With almost 600 acres of land, the Greece Canal Park is ideal for hiking, bird watching, and even cross country skiing.  The Greece Canal Park Dog is another one of the three dog parks in Monroe County that is an “off-leash” park.

The Greece Canal Dog Park is located at 241 Elmgrove Road, Rochester, NY 14626.  The Greece Canal Dog Park is located just south of West Ridge Road near Ridgemont Country Club.  The dog park is open from 7:00 AM until dusk, just like the Ellison Dog Park, and also requires that all dogs are a registered member of the Monroe County Dog Parks.

The Greece Canal Dog Park offers over 1 acre of land for your dogs to run loose.  There is a convenient fenced area for smaller dogs.  Like the Ellison Dog Park, the county provides bags so that owners can pick up after their dogs.

Dog Parks In Henrietta, NY 

In Henrietta, NY you will find another great dog park located in Lookup Park.  Lookup Park is unique as it offers not only an excellent dog park but also has a nine hole disc golf course, cabins, and a golf driving range that is managed and operated by the Henrietta Foundation.  The Lookup Dog Park is another Monroe County dog park that allows dogs to be “off leash.”

The Lookup Dog Park is located at 3850 East Henrietta Road, Henrietta, NY 14467.  The Lookup Dog Park is extremely convenient to access from Highway 390 and is open from dawn to dusk.  Just like the other two dog parks in Monroe County, Lookup Dog Park requires dogs to be a registered member.

The Lookup Dog Park offers 2.5 acres of land for your furry friends to enjoy.  Lookup Dog Park also conveniently provides bags for owners to pick up after their dogs as well as a very cool dog fountain.
